APE Malaysia is not a carbon offset company. We are making an effort to reduce carbon emissions with the ROAR initiative to encourage people to participate indirectly in wildlife conservation.
What is Carbon Footprint?
Carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions associated with all the activities of a person or other entity (e.g., building, corporation, country, etc.). Examples of emissions include electricity usage, transportation and manufacturing (Selin, 2020)
Here is a simple video that puts carbon footprints into perspective.

STEP 1: Calculate your emissions
For Malaysians, use the online carbon calculator https://www.greentechmalaysia.my/carboncalculator/
For Non- Malaysians, use the online carbon calculator https://offset.climateneutralnow.org/footprintcalc
STEP 2: Start reducing your emissions
STEP 3: Complete your purchase and reduce your carbon emissions!
There are many online carbon calculators available on the internet to find out how much carbon your lifestyle is producing. To know how many trees to plant to offset your carbon, we will have to do underground sampling to calculate the diameter measurement and the biomass of the tree. Here’s a link that gives you a good example of how to calculate a one-ton carbon tree manually.
Not every tree is the same. Please click here to find out more.
You can use free online carbon calculator/carbon calculator apps to calculate your emissions. Here’s a simple carbon calculator you can use.
